In the summer of 2020, the U.S. Embassy to Belgium will give five secondary school or young undergraduate students (ages 15-21) the opportunity to participate in a Youth Soccer and English as a Second Language Camp in the United States!
This 2-week program will consist of an intensive soccer camp (non-elite level) followed by a program build around the central theme of English as a second language and leadership.
The program will combine meetings with community organizations, local and national leaders, schools and universities, and much more. In addition, there will also be sessions on communication, public speaking and team-building as well as various cultural and sporting events.
All programs will be facilitated in English and while the soccer camp is not geared towards elite players, it will be quite an intensive athletic program. Are you a highly active and engaging student who wants to spend two weeks of their summer in the U.S. with lots of planned activities? Then we want you to apply for this program!
In order to apply, we ask you to create a one-minute video that responds to the following prompt: “What values do you think youngsters in the US and Belgium share in sports?”

Only applicants who submit a video will be considered.
This program is only open to Belgian citizens and legal permanent residents of Belgium. The U.S. Department of State covers the costs of the program.
Five participants will be selected based on their video submission and a final round of interviews.
