Participate in a Youth Soccer and English Camp in the United States
February 4, 2022

In the summer of 2022, the U.S. Embassy to Belgium will give secondary school or young undergraduate students (ages 15-21) the opportunity to participate in a Youth Soccer and English as a Second Language (ESL) Camp in the United States!

This 2-week program will consist of an intensive soccer camp (non-elite level) followed by a program build around the central theme of ESL and leadership.

The program will include meetings with community organizations, local and national leaders, schools, and universities, and much more. In addition, there will be sessions on communication, public speaking, and team building as well as various cultural and sporting events.

All programs will be facilitated in English, and while the soccer camp is not geared towards elite players, it will be an intensive athletic program.

Are you a highly active and engaging student who wants to spend two weeks of your summer in the U.S. with lots of planned activities? Then we want you to apply for this program!

To apply, we ask you to create a one-minute video that responds to the following prompt: “What values do you think youth in the U.S. and Belgium share in sports?”

Send your video to USPublicDiplomacyBE@state.gov by March 6, 2022.

Only applicants who submit a video will be considered.

This program is only open to Belgian citizens and legal permanent residents of Belgium. The U.S. Department of State covers the costs of the program.

We will select participants based on their video submission and a final round of interviews.

You may send your video via YouTube, Vimeo, WeTransfer, or Dropbox links. If you would like to send your file in a different format, please contact the following email address: USPublicDiplomacyBE@state.gov
