PLEASE NOTE: The processing time for routine passport applications is approximately 6 weeks due to high demand. If you are traveling within the next 2 weeks and need an Emergency Passport, please begin with passport navigator. Reminder for Dual National U.S. Citizens: U.S. law requires all U.S. citizens, including dual-national citizens, to enter the United States using their U.S. passport. We urge all U.S. citizens to keep their U.S. passports current.
The Embassy is closed on Belgian and American holidays.
Check your local embassy’s website on how to make an appointment, or in some cases, drop off your passport application. Walk-in services may not be available. Passport services are not available on weekends or on Belgium or U.S. holidays.

The DS-3053 is the Statement of Consent for Issuing a Passport to a Child and the DS-5525 is the Statement of Special Family Circumstances.

U.S. Embassy Belgium accepts online fee payments for adult U.S. passport renewal applications.
You must provide one U.S. size photo with your passport application. All our photo policies apply to both adults and children under age 16. We have a few exceptions to our photo policies for infants. Photos can be taken in the Consular Section in the U.S. Embassy Brussels as well as on the local market. The Photomaton photo booth located in the waiting room of the consular section which takes U.S. size passport photos. The fee for this service is €5.00, payable in cash (€5.00 note) or by credit card.
The expedited service for the issuance of a U.S. passport is a service offered only within the United States. To help the U.S. Embassy Belgium determine whether you meet the requirements for an expedited appointment outside of our regular appointment hours, your request must include proof of your emergency.
