Thank you for your interest in employment with the U.S. Mission in Belgium. To view a current list of all available positions at the U.S. Mission in Belgium and to apply online, please visit our ERA site.
All applications must be submitted through Electronic Recruitment Application (ERA) to be considered. Scroll down to read important information about ERA and watch a short video tutorial.
All applicants must create an ERA profile and submit their complete application through ERA for each vacancy of their interest.
A complete application means that your ERA profile outlines how you meet the minimum qualifications as listed in the vacancy announcement (education, experience and language proficiency), and contains the required attachments.
Due to regular system updates, ERA may undergo unforeseen maintenance outages at any time. In anticipation of the outages, the human resources office advises all applicants to submit applications as early as possible and not wait until the closing date of the vacancy. Applicants can log in and make changes to their applications online before the actual deadline. It is not possible to update or submit an application after the closing date.
Resume and cover letter are not required documents and will not be considered in the recruitment process. Instead, applicants must complete the ERA application profile thoroughly to capture all information they would like for the recruiters to consider. Applicants must outline the accurate and relevant education, experience and language proficiency. ERA saves these updates for applicants, so if you are planning to submit your application for multiple vacancies, you do not have start from scratch each time.
Each vacancy outlines a list of mandatory attachments for all applicants and for preference applicants. Always make sure that you cross-reference the list and provide all documents as required
If you have a diploma of one of the following countries, your diploma is automatically recognized: USA, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, or international diplomas awarded by the European University Institute Firenze. In case you have a foreign diploma from a different country, you need a professional recognition. For the procedure see Diploma Recognition – Mon Diplome Mydiploma. You can opt for the French procedure (via cfwb) or the Dutch procedure (via naric). Should you have questions regarding the recognition procedure, please contact cfwb or naric directly (www.equivalences.cfwb.be or www.naricvlaanderen.be).
In case you forget your password, the reset tool does not work. You will have to create a new ERA profile with a different e-mail address.
