The World Health Organization has determined that multiple countries within the Schengen Area are experiencing sustained person-to-person transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19). The Department of State has issued a Global Level 3 Health Advisory advising U.S. citizens to reconsider travel abroad due to the global impact of COVID-19. Travelers returning from the specified countries in Europe must stay home for 14 days after returning from travel, monitor their health, and practice social distancing. www.cdc.gov

Presidential Proclamation 9984 suspends the entry into the United States, as immigrants or nonimmigrants, of all aliens who were physically present within the Schengen Area during the 14-day period preceding their entry or attempted entry into the United States. The Proclamation became effective 5:00 a.m. Brussels time on Saturday, March 14, 2020.
This proclamation also does not apply to:
- U.S. citizens
- Lawful permanent residents (LPR) of the United States
- Children of a U.S. citizen or LPR
- Spouses of U.S. citizens and LPRs

All nonimmigrant visa appointments are canceled through the end of April. At this time, we have not canceled any Immigrant Visa appointments, aside from K-1 applicants. We will continue to process lost/stolen green card requests.
