Learn, exchange, grow, and serve. The U.S. Department of State offers many programs for non-U.S. citizens wishing to come to the U.S. for cultural, educational, or professional exchange. These programs are augmented by local opportunities in countries around that world that allow non-U.S. citizens to explore U.S. culture and the English language.
Learn more about quality higher-education opportunities in the U.S. and about ‘Meet Us,’ our school outreach program that brings Americans – U.S. citizens from all backgrounds of life resident or visiting Belgium, as well as U.S. Embassy staff – together with secondary school students in Belgium to engage them in dialogue about everyday life in the United States.
The United States supports international education and welcomes foreign students and exchange visitors. Before applying for a visa, students and exchange visitors must be accepted by their schools or program sponsors.
American English is a resource center for teaching and learning about American English language and culture.
The Office of Public Diplomacy manages the U.S. Embassy in Brussels grants program, which is designed to assist non-profit, cultural, and educational organizations in implementing programs that advance U.S.-Belgian ties.
This program is designed to strengthen relations between the United States and Belgium by bringing Americans – U.S. citizens from all backgrounds of life resident or visiting Belgium – together with a wide variety of Belgians to speak with them about the United States.
